Ric’s family is from Northfield, MN, and Joy grew up in the north island of New Zealand. They met in college, and married in 1973. Ric is a graduate of Metropolitan State University and Bethany College of Missions (Bloomington, MN). During that time they worked planting churches, in leadership development, and with Christian literature. Ric was senior pastor of the Union Church of Rio de Janeiro, and is ordained under the Evangelical Free Church.
They returned to the United States in 1988 when Ric became a Pastor to Missionaries and Area Director for Bethany’s mission outreaches in Mexico and the Caribbean. During the last 8 years Ric has been Senior Pastor of Three Lakes Evangelical Free Church in northern Wisconsin.
Ric and Joy have two married children, and five granddaughters.

A life direction for Ric is to lead churches and individuals to become missionaries to their own friends, extended families, and communities.

(3) Friendship with God, and
(4) Living as a loving husband, dad, granddad, and pastor.
