Pastor Henry Meyers

I am first and foremost a follower of King Jesus, then husband to my beautiful wife and father to my beloved children. My life's pursuit is Christ in the center of all that I am and all that I do.

I believe I am called to "take men alive" by being a fisher of men. (Matthew 4:19, Luke 5:10 ESV)

I was adopted into the family of God on September 22, 1984 after I surrendered my life to Christ at a youth retreat at my little country church. I grew up on a farm in Iowa and graduated and went on to Iowa State University to major in Agricultural Education and minor in Agricultural Mechanics.

After teaching high school agriculture, horticulture, aquaculture and mechanics for 10 years, I resigned that position to become a Church Planting Pastor for the Central District of the EFCA. My training came from Second Career School by graduating with an EFCA Ministry License.

To date, my favorite quote is “Just men depend on the grace of God rather than on their own wisdom in keeping their resolutions. In Him they confide every undertaking, for man, indeed, proposes but God disposes, and God's way is not man's. If a habitual exercise is sometimes omitted out of piety or in the interests of another, it can easily be resumed later. But if it be abandoned carelessly, through weariness or neglect, then the fault is great and will prove hurtful. Much as we try, we still fail too easily in many things. Yet we must always have some fixed purpose, especially against things which beset us the most. Our outward and inward lives alike must be closely watched and well ordered, for both are important to perfection.” (Written by Thomas A Kempis in 1420 A.D.)

Our family began searching for God’s leading into the next chapter of our lives in faithful service to our King in January of 2010. In 2011, we accepted the unanimous call to follow our Lord and King to become the next Pastor of Grace Community Church in Olivia, Minnesota… a place which we are very blessed to live and work and have our being until we are called Home to Glory.

Corem Deo. Kyrie Eleison.
